In this lecture, Torkom explains why the Teaching of Christ is central to the New Age and why Christ is emphasized in the Ageless Wisdom Teaching. He clarifies the need to approach Christ’s teaching psychologically and esoterically, not only historically or devotionally.
- Why New Age Gurus Have Failed
- Importance of Christ in the Teaching
- Two Conditions to Be in Contact with Christ
- Becoming the Path (At-one-ment with the Father)
- Christ’s Warning to Disciples (Distortion of the Teaching)
- Return of Christ
- Parable of Seeds (Psychological Meaning)
“Lo, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be wary and wise as serpents, and be innocent—harmless, guileless, and without falsity—as doves.
Be on guard against men, for they will deliver you up to councils and flog you in their synagogues, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, to bear testimony before them and to the Gentiles.
But when they deliver you up, do not be anxious about how or what you are to speak, for what you are to say will be given you in that very hour and moment. For it is not you who are speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death. And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake, but he who perseveres and endures to the end will be saved.
Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s will and notice. Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not then; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Everyone who acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies and disowns me before men, I will also deny and disown before my Father who is in heaven.
Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to part asunder a man from his father, and a daughter from her mother, and a newly married wife from her mother-in-law. And a man’s foes will be they of his own household.
He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.”
